2017 Nostra Homes de Castella Run 2 Mend Minds

Sunday 27 August 2017

The de Castella Run, now in its thirty seventh year, is organized by the Old Xaverians’ Athletic Club in partnership with the Monash Alfred Psychiatry research centre (MAPrc). As well as being a ‘fun run’ the Nostra Homes de Castella Run 2 Mend Minds also raises money for clinically translational world class research, education for mental illnesses such as bi-polar, chronic depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s Disease, acquired brain injury, borderline personality disorder, post traumatic stress and more.

It really doesn’t matter whether you walk or run – what really matters is that you join in! You can enter the 5 km run/walk; 10 or 15 km run, which all start and finish at Burke Hall, Nolan Avenue, KEW.

The course travels along one of Melbourne’s most scenic routes, undulating around the Yarra River, local golf course and has a beautiful Melbourne city skyline as a backdrop. The Mind and Body Expo post run adds to the friendly community feel of the event, offering music, free yoga and physiotherapist massage, jumping castle, face painting, petting zoo, fresh food and coffee.

You can go on to the official website to learn more about our great fundraising prizes, check out last year’s full results, set up your own fundraising page and message, make a donation or sponsor a friend.  Make sure you follow the event on Instagram #run2mendminds or email info@decastellarun.com.au to be added to the mailing list.
