ASC Conference 2013
MAPrc is hosting the 12th Biennial Australasian Schizophrenia Conference
13 – 14 May 2013, Melbourne Australia
The theme of this extraordinary conference is ‘Think Differently’
Albert Einstein said “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”. His inspirational words urge us to think differently about tackling the many aspects of schizophrenia.
ASC 2013 will deliver expert keynote speakers, diverse breakout sessions, workshops and poster presentations that aim to make us broaden our views about schizophrenia. It will bring together knowledge from many different areas, and motivate delegates to explore and develop potential collaboration projects at a local, national and international level.
Far too often, research conferences and clinical conferences are held separately. We aim to bridge this gap with our unique approach to ASC 2013. We will join together experts from a variety of disciplines to discover cutting edge science and new treatments approaches that can be translated into clinical practice – which will greatly improve quality of life for people with schizophrenia.
This conference especially aims to attract students and early career researchers / clinicians. A key objective of ASC 2013 is to deliver high calibre education and transfer expert knowledge on to the future generation.
For the first time in the history of the ASC, we will be having a focus on bipolar disorders and working towards a more unified psychosis approach in both the research and treatment settings.
This conference promises to stand out as a memorable research and clinical meeting to advance knowledge and translation of information into practice for people with schizophrenia. It will also provide new challenges for clinicians, researchers and policy makers in a beautiful Melbourne venue. People will talk about this ASC for a long time to come!
