Congratulations to NHMRC Early Career Fellow Dr Gemma Sharp who was awarded a Young Tall Poppy Award for Victoria. This award recognises excellence in research and science communication. Dr Sharp’s research focuses on body image concerns and requests for cosmetic surgery. She is particularly interested in labiaplasty, the world’s fastest growing type of cosmetic surgery, and is considered to be a leader in this field of research. She is currently developing innovative treatments using technology to assist the growing number of people with body image concerns.
