New Patron for MAPrc

Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, is a truly remarkable woman who has generously and kindly agreed to be a patron for MAPrc.
It was my great privilege and honour to meet Ms Bryce in July 2009 and discuss our research. In particular the Governor General was particularly keen to hear about the advances we are making in the development of new treatments for mental illnesses experienced by women. She was also very keen to assist MAPrc continue to develop into a large mental health organisation with national impact and influence on clinical mental health practice informed by research.
Ms Bryce combines the attributes of warmth, understanding, sensitivity with great intellect and decisiveness in a way that commands great admiration. Following an important review process by her Excellency’s office, we have been formally granted permission and approval to list the Governor General as our patron and to include this on our official documentation. I look forward to MAPrc continuing to flourish under Ms Bryce’s patronage and am very grateful for her Excellency’s interest in our work.
